Edited, Effortless Essentials. All Year Round. #freshAYR

Back in February, Bonobos, the menswear brand designed with one purpose in mind: to make you look awesomeintroduced its first women’s label, AYR (an acronym for “all year round”). I was lucky enough to sneak in a few days before AYR’s first Guide Shop opened, for the women’s debut collection at the company’s headquarters in Manhattan.

The new women's line is focused on refined aesthetics, superior fit, and luxe fabrics with an emphasis on the details. A cohesive collection that is designed with a buy-now, wear-now philosophy - classic pieces integrate easily into your wardrobe, enduring season after season. With a foundation in denim, and an offering of knits, sweaters and outerwear, AYR was created to provide edited, effortless essentials - wearable all year round.

The Spring 2014 collection features 75 pieces across 25 styles in a variety of colors and washes, with prices ranging from $50 to $485. AYR denim ($150-185) - my new favorite pair of jeans - combines the best of both worlds, offering incredible stretch and softness, in hardworking shades offset by bright hues and subtle destruction.

The collection includes silk crepe blouses, weightless button-downs in cotton, tunics in silk cotton voile and sweaters in Italian Merino, baby Alpaca, and Scottish cashmere, a rumpled blazer and trouser short in Italian Linen, and outerwear - including a denim jacket, silk parka and plush Italian wool robe (this robe it to die for).

Each season, AYR will feature an ‘Artist in Residency,’ whose work will be represented across select tops in the line. For Spring’14, AYR will feature Martin Davis fine art. Based on abstract silkscreens and collage on paper, the Martin Davis x AYR Graphic tees are hand-screened at LQQK Studios. A series of high chromatic abstract stripes are digitally replicated and hand printed on AYR cotton voile.
